Great opportunity for an Registered Nurse Cardiac Cath Lab just north of Orlando, FL. Shift: Full-time with rotating weekends (10 hr. shifts) Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse Cardiac Cath Lab: Cardiac Rehabilitation Scope of Service Provided Phase I: Inpatient cardiac patients are seen to discuss the continuation of care of Phase II Cardiac Rehabilitation after discharge when medical clearance is received. Phase II: This is a physician-referred outpatient program designed to enhance the functional capacity and knowledge of the patient with coronary artery disease. Scope of patients referred may be those with multiple cardiac risk factors, symptomatology, medical management, invasive management or surgical intervention. The patient's current cardiac status must be considered stable. An exercise program is prescribed for each person based upon the specific patient's needs and abilities. The program incorporates two to three one hour sessions per week of telemetry monitored exercise, education, and group support and relaxation methods. Family and/or significant others are encouraged to attend the educational portion of the program. Pulmonary Rehabilitation Scope of Service Provided Phase II: This is a physician-referred outpatient program designed to enhance the functional capacity and knowledge of the patient with a diagnosis (es) related to chronic pulmonary disease. The program is prescribed for each person based upon the patient's diagnosis, specific needs, and abilities. Patients are scheduled for two one hour sessions per week. Each session incorporates individualized exercise. Education is also provided according to the needs of the patient. Family and/or significant others are encouraged to attend the educational portion of the program. Patient volume varies based on hospital census and physician referral. Skill Mix: Registered Nurses and Exercise Physiologists Requirements of the Registered Nurse Cardiac Cath Lab: Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred 5 years previous RN experience working with cardiac patients, preferably on a telemetry unit or coronary care unit Current Florida State RN License Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills Background in Exercise Physiology and Cardiac Rehab preferred. Exercise Prescription experience preferred. Must be competent in EKG/telemetry interpretation. Prefer past cardiac &/or critical care nursing experience. This facility is a multidisciplinary cardiovascular center. Their cardiac catheterization labs are equipped with the latest digital technology for more precise images, and newly designed X-ray panels decrease patients' exposure to radiation. Their electrophysiology lab provides the latest, most accurate and reliable equipment available to measure patients' heart rhythms and correct abnormal conditions.
