Great opportunity for a Cath Lab Tech in the southern area of Illinois and just 10 miles east of St. Louis, Missouri. Shift - Days - 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m; Call Rotation 1:2 - (3:30 p.m. - 07:00 a.m.) Responsibilities of the Cath Lab Tech The radiologic technologist specializes in assisting with invasive cardiac procedures and other procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Performs a variety of technical procedures by applying principals of radiation protection and ALARA that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required, including specialized areas such as Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology. The radiologic technologist is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for patients, assists the Physician in performing cardiac catheterizations and other interventional procedures by monitoring equipment, passing instruments, observing patient response to the procedure, maintaining sterile field, interpreting and evaluating diagnostic data to be utilized by the Cardiologist or other Physicians. Requirements of the Cath Lab Tech Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology, either hospital based or college degree program. Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) is required. IEMA license or certification is required. Cath Lab experience preferred but not required. Must possess current card from the American Heart Association for Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months, or at the end of the orientation period, whichever is sooner.
